NOTE:Makesurethatthedirectionofrotationissetcorrectlyforallactuatorsatthistime,

8. At this point, the LMV5 alarm can be reset, provided that there is not a call for heat present
(burnerswitchisoff/X5‐03.1isnotenergized).OlderLMV5unitsalsorequirethesafetyloopto
be closed before the alarm can be reset. The reset can be accomplished via a remote reset
button(ifwired)orviathemenupath:

9. Setactuatorhome(standby)positionsifnecessary.Defaultsare0degreesand0%VSD.Fordual
fuelburnersthiswillneedtobedoneforbothfuels.Themenupathis:

10. Coupleactuatorstothevalves/dampers.Actuatorsmustnottorqueagainstmechanicalstops
onthevalve/damperwhenathomeposition.Adjusthomepositionsifnecessary.
NOTE:Actuatorshaftcouplingsmustcompensateforbothangularandparallelshaft
misalignmentduetothemountingbracket.Solid(rigid)shaftcouplingsarenotacceptablein
mostapplications,especiallywhenformedorweldedmountingbracketsareused.Couplings
shouldhavelittletonobacklash,andareasafetyrelevantpartofalinkage‐lesssystem.
NOTE:Makeabsolutelycertainthatwhentheactuatorsareatornear0degrees(asindicated
ontheAZLdisplay)thatthevalve/dampertheactuatoriscoupledtoisintheCLOSED
(minimumflow)position.Anexceptiontothisissomeback‐flowtypeoilburners,wherea
wideopenoilvalvewillresultinminimalflowthrutheoilnozzle.
11. Withtheburneroff,strokeeachvalve/damperthroughitsintendedrangeofmotionusingthe
SQM…actuatorthatisnowcoupledtothevalve/damper.Themenupathtodothisis:

In the Curve Parameters screen, all of the activated actuators for the selected fuel can be
strokedthroughtheirintendedrangeofmotion.Anarrow(>)indicatestheactuatorisdrivingto
thesetpositionandacolon(:)indicatesthattheactuatorisatthesetpositi on.Verifythatno
binding will occur through the intended range of motion.Also note valves
/ dampers where
wideopenislessthan90degrees.
12. Setspecialpositionsforallactivatedactuators.This willdefinewheretheactuators/VSDgofor
ignition, pre‐purge, and post‐purge.For dual fuel burners this will need to be done for both
fuels.Specialpositionscanbesetusingthefollowingmenupath:
