SuggestedRatioControlCurveCommissioning
1. Theprocedurebelowassumesthefollowing:
a. Pre‐requisitesforBasicLMV51systemsorLMV52systems(fromabove)aremet.
b. ProcedureforConfiguring(Parameterizationof)anLMV5hasbeendone(fromabove).
c. Thisisafirst‐timecommissioningoftheLMV5andthecombustioncontrolcurveisblank
(nopointsentered).
d. Theburnerhasbeenlitoff,andisatignitionposition.
e. Acalibratedstackgasanalyzerissamplingthestac
kgasandcanread%O
2
andppmCO.
f. Theboilerhasbeenwarmeduptooperatingtemperature/pressure.
2. Ifactivated,setparameterProgramStoptodeactivated.Thiswillpermittheratiocontrolcurve
tobecommissioned.Theratiocontrolcurvecanbefoundunderthemenu:
Params&Display>RatioControl>GasSettings>CurveParams
3. GotoPoint1.Point1isautomaticallysettoignitionpositionvalues.WhenPoint1isentered,
theAZLwillpromptto“change”or“delete”thepoint.“Change”shouldbeselected.Next,the
AZLwillpromptfor“Followed”or“Notfollowed”.“Followed”shouldbeselected.Allactuators
and / or VSD that have been activated should show up on this screen.If more than one Aux
actuator or VSD are activated, the screen may need to be scrolled down to show the other
actuators.IfanO

sensorisbeingusedandisactivated,theO

readingwillalsobedisplayed.
NOTE:Usingthe“Notfollowed”optionispossiblebutnotrecommendedformostsituations
sincetheresultsofchangingtheactuatorpositionsin“Notfollowed”modecannotbeseen
realtimeonacombustionanalyzer.When“Followed”isselected,acarat(>)isshownwhen
theactuators/VSDaremovingtothedisplayedposition.Acolon(:)isshownwhenthe
indicatedpositionsarereached.Apound(#)isshownwh
entheAux3FGRactuatorisbeing
heldatpositionduetoatimeortemperature‐basedFGRhold.
4. If the low fire point is not known (maximum burner turndown), adjust the Point 1 actuator
positions until maximum safe burner turndown is achieved.Record the fuel flow.If the fuel
flowisnotavailable,burnerheadpressurecanbeusedasalastresort.
