5.1 Operator input options

• To avoid incorrect operation, certain inputs are ignored and blocked from further entry:
– Simultaneous operation with more than 5 fingers.
– Surface contact with a diameter of > 3 cm, for example, resting the palm of the hand
on the multi-touch screen
– As soon as the multi-touch screen is no longer touched, input is possible again.
• In the event of the following malfunctions, the multi-touch screen is locked for safety
reasons:
– On the multi-touch screen there is a conductive liquid with ground contact via the
housing or e.g. the operator.
– Electromagnetic interference is present that exceeds the specification according to EN
61000-4-2.
– As soon as the malfunction has been remedied, the multi-touch screen is unlocked.
5.1.2 SIMATIC IPC Panel Drivers and Tools
The "SIMATIC IPC Panel Drivers and Tools" software installs the "IPC Configuration Center"
and, optionally, the "IFP Ethernet Monitor" software. The existing hardware components are
automatically detected.
The most important features of the software are:
• Configuration with IPC Configuration Center:
– Brightness
– Screen saver
– Tools
– Touch settings
• Configuration with IFP, Ethernet monitor:
– Ethernet Monitor settings
