11.3.9 Setting the Data Request Interval
Requirement:
☐ You must have the user role Installer or PV System Administrator (see Section16.1, page114).
The data request interval defines how often the SunnyHomeManager sends data to and requests date from
SunnyPortal.
Option Explanation
automatically
The SunnyHomeManager updates data on the pages Current Status and Forecast and
on the tabs Current within a few seconds. The SunnyHomeManager sends data that is dis-
played on other pages to SunnyPortal within a few minutes (up to a maximum of 15 min-
utes).
Hourly The SunnyHomeManager sends data to and requests data from SunnyPortal hourly.
Settings made via SunnyPortal are sent to the SunnyHomeManager within 60minutes.
Daily The SunnyHomeManager sends data to and requests data from SunnyPortal every 24
hours.
Settings made on SunnyPortal are sent to the SunnyHomeManager within 24hours.
If loads are controlled via switching devices such as radio-controlled sockets or all-or-nothing relays, you must
activate the Automatic option.
Procedure:
1. Call up the Properties of the HomeManager under Device overview.
2. Select [Edit].
3. Select [Extended configuration].
4. In the area Data request interval, select the desired option.
5. Click on [Save].
SMA Solar Technology AG only recommends setting the data request interval to Hourly or Daily if your Internet
connection is established via a GSM modem. This way, depending on your GSM tariff, you will avoid additional costs.
11.3.10 Activating SMA Smart Home
11.3.10.1 Activating the Self-Consumption Function
If you want to use the self-generated PV energy in your household, the SunnyHomeManager system must be
configured accordingly.
If you already answered Yes to the question about self-consumption when you created the system in SunnyPortal (see
Section9.1, page29), you do not have to do anything.
If you have not yet made this specification when creating the system or if you want to subsequently set your system to
self-consumption, you can make this setting either via the configuration of the SunnyHomeManager or via the
configuration of the system.
Activating self-consumption via the SunnyHomeManager:
1. In the menu Configuration, click on Device overview.
