11 Device Administration

Procedure:
1. Select Configuration > Device overview in the page and menu selection.
2. Select the device properties of the SunnyHomeManager.
3. After selecting the Extended configuration view, open the tab Modbus Configuration.
4. In the Modbus Profile column, select the required predefined Modbus device from the drop-down menu.
5. Enter the data of the selected device in the fields IP address, Port and Unit ID.
If the Modbus device is a Moxa device, it is recommended to set the Moxa in the router with an IP address/MAC
address binding or to subsequently set to a fixed IP address from the free range of the router not used for DHCP.
Port (default 502) and Unit ID (default 1 or 2) do not need to be changed.
Existing entries can be changed by overwriting.
To delete a configuration, click on the recycle bin symbol in the corresponding line.
6. Click on [Save].
11.4 Adding and Configuring the Inverter
Requirement:
You must have the user role Installer or PV System Administrator (see Section16.1, page114).
11.4.1 Adding an Inverter
Requirements:
The new device must be in operation.
Tip: Keep note of the serial number of the device you want to add.
For the new SMA device, the default password 1111 for the user group Installer or the system password of the
existing system must already be set (see Section17.3, page118).
In the new device this must be set: Data collection activated (see Section11.1.4, page52).
For the SunnyHomeManager this must be set: Data request interval Automatic (see Section11.3.9,
page59).
Procedure:
1. Under Configuration > Device overview select the tab Overview of new devices.
2. Select device after preselection via the device filter or in the list and activate via .
The configuration wizard opens and provides the further procedure step by step.
3. Enter the device name. You can also select and edit one of the suggestions displayed.
4. Enter the Phase and Generator power in the device properties.
5. When required, activate inverter comparison and enter a percentage value for the tolerance in the system
monitoring.
6. Select [Next].
A summary of your entries is displayed.
7. If the data are correct, select [Finish].
The new SMA device is displayed under Configuration > Device overview.
It can take up to 20minutes to replace an inverter using the configuration wizard.
11.4.2 Entering Line Conductors
SunnyPortal can display in the devices classes PV inverter and battery inverter the line conductor(s) to which each
inverter is connected.
