10.1 Adding or Replacing Devices
You can add devices to your SunnyHomeManager system or replace devices.
You have to capture the new device with the SunnyHomeManager. The configuration wizard in
SunnyPortal assists you in capturing, adding and replacing devices.
If you need to replace the SunnyHomeManager, you must use the PV System Setup Assistant (see
Section10.3, page96).
General requirements:
☐ You must have the user role Installer or PV System Administrator (see Section13.1,
page120).
Requirement for SMA devices:
☐ For new SMA BLUETOOTH devices:
– The NetID of the PV system must be set on the new SMA BLUETOOTH device.
– The BLUETOOTH LED on the new inverter or on the new BLUETOOTH Piggy-Back or
BLUETOOTH Piggy-BackOff-Grid in the new inverter must be glowing blue.
☐ For the new SMA device, the default password 1111 for the user group Installer or the
system password of the existing system must be set (see Section14.3, page124).
☐ The new device must be in operation.
☐ The data request interval must be set to Automatic (see Section8.7, page69).
Device replacement: The old device must NOT be deleted, but deactivated
If you delete the device that you wish to replace from SunnyPortal, all the device data is
irretrievably deleted.
• To retain the data of the old device in SunnyPortal, do not delete the old device, but
deactivate it (see Section10.2, page96).
• Add the new device as an additional device to the SunnyHomeManager system
(system extension).
Smart appliances cannot be replaced
Smart appliances which communicate via a data exchange protocol with the
SunnyHomeManager cannot be replaced in SunnyPortal.
• To retain the data of the old load in SunnyPortal, do not delete the old load, but
deactivate it (see Section10.2, page96).
• Add the new load as an additional device to the SunnyHomeManager system (system
extension).
Procedure:
1. Go to www.SunnyPortal.com.
2. Log into SunnyPortal (see Section4.1, page28).
