10.1 Finding and eliminating errors correctly
10.1.1 Before troubleshooting on the machine
1. Park the tractor/machine combination.
2. Secure the tractor/machine combination to prevent it from rolling
away.
3. When working on folding machines:
Fold out the folding parts of the machines or secure them against
folding out.
4. When working on a raised machine:
Secure the machine against lowering.
5. Remove the ignition key.
Necessary deviations from this procedure are described in the respec‐
tive chapters on troubleshooting.
10.1.2 When troubleshooting and eliminating errors
To prevent accidents and injuries:
► Wear protective equipment.
► Use the following instruments:
n Suitable tools
n Climbing aids
n Supporting elements
► For dismantling and mounting heavy components:
Use hoisting gear.
► To avoid slipping of tools:
n Use aids to reduce the amount of force required, e.g. exten‐
sions.
n Check nuts and screw heads etc. for wear and tear. Consult a
specialist if necessary.
► Observe troubleshooting instructions.
