3.1 Machine overview
Hoeing machines are made up of a large number of assembly groups.
Each hoeing machine is congured for a specic application and is
therefore individual.
Hoeing machines dier in the following characteristics:
n Rear mounting or front mounting
n Type and size of the frames (e. g. rigid or folding) and front linkages
n Type and number of support wheels (0, 2 or more; made of rubber,
steel or as track discs)
n Hydraulics: with or without hydraulic device for lifting and lowering
hoeing elements
n GPS: with or without GPS equipment (control, GPS steering discs)
for lifting and lowering hoeing elements
n Type of hoeing elements (Basic-Elements, Combi-Elements, TRS-
Elements)
n Number of hoeing elements
n Type and number of tools
