√ Observe the basic procedure Ä , see page 54.
1. Position the tractor-machine combination.
2. Fold out the folding machine.
DANGER: If the machine comes into contact with an overhead
line when being folded, there is a danger of a fatal electric shock.
3. Set lower link:
n Machine with steering frame: Leave lower links free to move.
n Machine without steering frame: Fix lower links.

5. Lower the hoeing elements into the ground.
INFORMATION: With hydraulically operated elements (operation
via Section Control), this is also possible while driving straight
ahead.
6. Make sure that all hoeing elements are lowered.
7. Switch three-point linkage to the oat position.
8. Soil cultivation:
n Drive at a constant operating speed over the tillage area.
When using GPS: drive at least 3 km/h; in the headland, a
maximum of 6 km/h.
n Observe the working result.
n Pay attention to possible faults:
– Are the knives still sharp?
– Are the tools xed and do they maintain the working
depth?
– Are all hoeing elements constantly in the track?
n Monitor hazardous areas. If required, stop working.
ATTENTION: Do not reverse as long as the hoeing elements are in
the ground.
9. Prior to the headland:
Lift the machine fully out of the soil.
ATTENTION: If parts of the machine come into contact with the
ground, the machine components may be damaged when turning.
10. On the headland:
Adapt driving speed to the conditions of the terrain and soil.
