4.1 GENERAL
WARNING – PERSONAL INJURY AND/OR
EQUIPMENT DAMAGE HAZARD:
Regularly scheduled preventive maintenance,
in addition to faithful performance of minor
maintenance described in this manual, is
required for safe and reliable operation of this
equipment. Contact STERIS to schedule pre-
ventive maintenance.
Only STERIS or STERIS-trained service techni-
cians should make repairs and adjustments to
this equipment. Maintenance done by inexpe-
rienced, unqualified personnel or installation
of unauthorized parts could cause personal
injury, invalidate warranty or result in costly
damage. Contact STERIS regarding service
options.
WARNING – ELECTRIC SHOCK AND/OR
BURN HAZARD:.
Disconnect all utilities to unit before servicing.
Do not service unit unless all utilities have
been properly locked out. Always follow local
electrical codes and safety-related work prac-
tices.
Fasteners and star washers are used to
ensure protective bonding continuity. Always
reinstall any star washer which may have been
removed during installation or servicing.
The sample preventive maintenance guide included in
this section (Table 4-1) should be used as a guideline
for determining the frequency of preventive mainte-
nance. This will prove useful in helping ensure proper
maintenance of your washer.
Maintenance procedures described in this section must
be performed as required at the suggested frequency.
The indicated frequencies are minimums and can be
changed if washer use warrants.

4.2 PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
SCHEDULE
It is important, for proper and efficient operation of
washer, to set up a schedule of periodic inspection and
maintenance following established institutional prac-
tices. Close attention should be paid to conditions in
operating environment which will affect frequency of
some maintenance procedures indicated (e.g., mineral
content of water supply, washer usage).
The following schedule should be used as a guide to
properly maintain washer. These procedures should
be carried out only by qualified service technicians.

ECTION 1 of this manual. Do not operate or service the equipment
until you have become familiar with this information.
