CPR MICRO SWITCH REPLACEMENT (OPTIONAL) (CONTINUED)
Micro Switch Attached to the Head Section Lever
Note
This switch informs on the state of the Fowler motor (engaged or disengaged) when the CPR emergency release is
activated.
Completely raise the bed and apply the brakes.1.
Raise the head siderails.2.
Raise the head section at an angle of 45°. 3.
Unplug the bed power cord from the wall outlet. 4.
Remove the wires (A) from the micro switch. Note the location of the wires so they will be connected correctly to 5.
the replacement micro switch.
Using the No. 1 Phillips screwdriver, remove the two screws (B) holding the micro switch to the fowler section lever. 6.
Keep the mounting plate (C). Remove the defective micro switch.
Reverse the above steps to install the replacement micro switch. 7.
Test the CPR emergency release before returning the bed to service.8.
Micro Switch Attached to the Frame
Note
This switch signals to the motor control board on one hand, that the resetting of the Fowler motor may begin because the
Fowler is completely lowered, and on the other hand, that the lowering to flat of the Knee Gatch may also begin.
Completely raise the Fowler. 1.
Unplug the bed power cord from the wall outlet. 2.
Remove the cable wires (D) from the micro switch. Note the location of the wires so they will be connected correctly 3.
to the replacement micro switch.
Using the regular screwdriver, remove the micro switch from its support.4.
Reverse the above steps to install the replacement micro switch. 5.
Test the CPR emergency release before returning the bed to service.6.
