CPR ACTIVATION CABLE REPLACEMENT (OPTIONAL)
Tools Required:
7/16” Combination Wrench•
Procedure:
Note
Unless otherwise indicated, refer to Figure 4.3 F on pg. 54 for the following replacement procedure.
Completely raise the bed and apply the brakes. 1.
Completely raise the Fowler and remove the head board. 2.
Unplug the bed power cord from the wall outlet. 3.
Using the 7/16” combination wrench, remove the nut, sleeve and bolt (G) holding both ends of the activation cable 4.
to the fixed lever.
Using the 7/16” combination wrench, remove the nut and washer (H) holding the defective cable jacket to the mo-5.
bile lever. Remove the cable from the mobile lever and keep the spring (I). Try not to move the other cable from its
position.
Unscrew completely the two locknuts (J) holding the defective cable to the CPR handle end. Remove the cable. 6.
Reverse the above steps to install the replacement cable. 7.
Note
Make sure there is no loose space at the CPR handle once the replacement cable is installed.
Test the CPR emergency release before returning the bed to service.8.
