“Used with absolute encoder for the first time”
When using the absolute encoder for the first time, the driver will generate AL.016 (absolute encoder
number of turns abnormal) alarm; after installing the batteries correctly, using Cn041=2 (encoder
multi-turn data will be reset to zero), then disconnect and reconnect the power again to allow the
driver to resume normal operation.
“When and how to change the batteries”
Once the voltage of the batteries is less than 3.1V, AL.010 (absolute encoder battery warning)
will be displayed, and the digital output contact BAT will come ON. When this warning shows, the
batteries need to be changed. Please refer to the following items on how to replace the batteries:
1. Only turn on the control power of the servo driver
(If the batteries were replaced while the control power is OFF, the data in the memory of the
absolute encoder will disappear)
2. Open the cover of the battery component
3. Remove the old batteries and install new batteries
4. Close the cover of the battery component
5. Release AL.010 (absolute encoder battery warning), the digital input contact ALRS can be
used to clear the warning
