9.5.1. Cutting speed
Prior to running a program, refer to the cut chart data for the process used, Oxy fuel/Plasma,
material type and thickness, set the appropriate speed, then initiate the Auto Mode.
During the cutting process, the feed rate can be adjusted up/down by the [F] [F] keys, pressing
the [F] key, a numerical value input can be made using the keypad. The input data is logged and
can be retrieved.
9.5.2. Process start point
The torch is positioned on the plate at the start point of the cutting path, the Arrow keys are used
to position the torch. Starting the program will reset the “X/Y” values to “0”. There is no need to
manually set the program zero position.
Pressing the GREEN [START] key will initiate the cutting process.
9.5.3. Active key functions when running a program
The active key functions available when running a program are limited to:
[F] [F] Feed Rate Increase/decrease, the incremental speed change is slow during the cutting
process, giving greater control over the effect of speed change to the profile part. Making a
significant speed change to the cutting process will require the process to be paused and input
revised values.
[S] [S] Torch Up/Down, in the oxy fuel cutting mode, pressing Up/Down keys will increase/
decrease the torch to work piece cutting height.
In the plasma cutting mode, the torch height is controlled automatically through the “AVC” Arc
Voltage Control function. The torch height can be manually adjusted by pressing [S↑] [S] shortly
after start-up to increase/decrease the torch to work piece height. The process will continue using
the newest values, the values will remain as set until altered.
[G] Override Preheat Timer, using this function will cancel the preheat process and activate the
oxygen cut flow gas. This action will not change the preheat timer settings.
[START] Cancel and Record Preheat Timer, pressing the [START] key when the preheat timer is
functioning will cause the timer to stop, the cutting oxygen starts to flow, the piercing/cutting
process begins. The actual preheat time is logged and used until altered.
