Laser Transmitter Setup
Setup your rotating laser in the center of the field or in a
position within range of the area you intend to survey. Also,
remember that:
the laser transmitter should be raised until its beam hits
close to the center of the TM-1 travel range.
the position and height of the laser should be the same for
both the perimeter survey and the serpentine survey.
See “Laser Setup” on page 3-1 for general laser transmitter
setup and calibration procedures. Refer to your laser’s
documentation for more specific instructions on setting up the
laser.
Once your laser is set up and rotating, position the scraper
within approximately 50’ of the laser and lower the scraper so it
rests on the ground. Press the Survey button to search for and
lock onto the beam. See “Using the Search Function” on
page 2-11 and “Using the Survey Function” on page 2-11 for
more information.
TIP
To maximize the amount of adjustment while
surveying, position the TM-1 mast at the
approximate center of its travel range.
If the laser receiver looks like it is resting too low on the mast,
you may wish to raise the laser transmitter. The receiver will
automatically correct its position according to the laser
transmitter’s elevation. Conversely, if the receiver seems too
high on the mast, you may wish to lower the laser transmitter
(Figure 4-2 on page 4-4).
