Figure 5-1. Adjusting for Soil Compaction
The best approach is to work a small section of the field to learn
just how compact the soil is.
3. Press the Auto button to begin automatic land-leveling, driving
from cut to fill according to the cut and fill map.
Second and Succeeding Day Setups
Before moving the laser transmitter, establish an elevation grade
reference using one of the following methods:
Level a small section of the field, 50’x50’, to finish grade.
Use a grade rod to setup a benchmark hub.
If the height of the transmitter remains the same, ensure the Control
Box uses the same elevation setting number from the previous day.
If the height of the transmitter changes, use the finish grade or
benchmark hub as a reference for succeeding day setups.
