To use a finish grade or hub as an elevation reference,
1. Set the machine's cutting edge on the bench mark hub or finish
grade cut from the previous day (Figure 5-2).

2. Set up the laser, with correct slopes, at any height.
3. Press Survey to lock the receiver on-grade (Figure 5-3).
