10.2 Monitoring NetAudio Server Status 89
VU Levels
These indicate the current record or playback levels after any ltering
or sample-rate conversion. Each '*' represents a 6 dB step in level. Levels
that will result in clipping are represented by '+' marks.
Buering
This indicates the utilization of the
DAT-Link
's internal buer. When
playing a le, an underrun error will o ccur if the buer empties completely,
thus having close to a full buer, as shown in Figure 10.1, is desirable. When
recording, an overrun error will o ccur if the buer ever lls completely. Thus,
in this case, an empty buer is most desirable.
Sampling Rate
This is the sampling rate of the les on the host side. If sampling
rate conversion is b eing used, then the converted rate will also be displayed
as shown on the playback side in the example.
Precision
The numb er of bits p er sample.
Enco ding
Audio data enco ding.
Gain
The gain applied by the
DAT-Link
.
Channels
This indicate whichchannels are active. Possible values are
Left
,
Right
,
Mono
, and
Stereo
. The
Mono
setting is for playback of single-channel data on
both the left and right output channels.
State
One of
Inactive
,
Filling
,
Active
, and
Paused
indicating the current state
of audio data transfers.
Waiting
Indicates the numb er of clients that are waiting for access to transfer data
to or from the server.
Left & RightCS
The AES/EBU channel status bits.
User Bits
The AES/EBU user bits.
Clo ck
Clock source for playback; one of
Internal
,
Input
, and
External
.
Master
A nonzero values indicates that the
DAT-Link
is generating a master clock
on its clo ck I/O connector.
Lo cked
A valid AES/EBU signal is b eing read by the
DAT-Link
on one of its
digital audio inputs.
Source
The digital audio input source. The value
Active
indicates that the
DAT-
Link
will select whichever input has a valid AES/EBU signal.
AES Status
Status bits of the AES/EBU receiver.
Skip Silence
A non-zero value indicates that recordings are set to skip initial silent
perio ds.
