2.1.8BeltLoaderTowingInstructions
Occasionally, due to a mechanical failure, a TUG Belt Loader may require towing for some dis-
tance. If at all possible, the Belt Loader should be moved with a suitable tow truck or on a flat bed
tow truck. If this is not practical, the Belt Loader can be towed with all four wheels on the ground.
In this situation, extreme diligence is required.
2.1.8.1TowingRequirements
CAUTION: Do not tow the Belt Loader if it has experienced a hydraulic fail-
ure as the unit may not be steerable! The maximum tow distance with the
driveshaft installed is 1 mile at a speed of no more than 5 mph. If the
required towing distance is more than 1 mile, the driveshaft must be
removed from the Belt Loader to avoid transmission damage. The maxi-
mum towing speed without the driveshaft is 5 mph.
WARNING: FAILURE TO USE PROPER TOWING GEAR CAN CAUSE SERI-
OUS INJURY OR DEATH.
