PROCEDURE
1 If there is a clutch coupling between engine and propeller, do the steps that follow:
1.1 Engage the clutch coupling.
1.2 Keep the clutch coupling engaged during operation to prevent damage to the
engine.
2 Select the applicable control panel.
3 Start the auxiliary blowers.
4 Set the minimum fuel injection quantity on the related control panel to 30%.
5 Push the button START AHD or START AST to start the engine.
NOTE: The ECS starts an automatic pre-lubrication sequence with a specified number
of pulses.
NOTE: The ECS increases the engine speed.
6 If new cylinder liners or piston rings were installed, do a running-in, refer to section 9.8
Running-in of new components.
7 If necessary, slowly adjust the fuel injection quantity.
NOTE: The ECS changes the engine speed.
