4. CHECKING AND ADJUSTING
[1] ENGINE BODY
Compression Pressure
1. After warming-up the engine, remove the air cleaner, muffler,
glow lead, and glow plugs.
2. Set a compression tester (1) (Code No.: 07909-39081) with the
adaptor (2) to the glow plug hole.
3. Crank the engine with the starter to operate the engine approx.
200 to 300 min
-1
(rpm).
4. Measure a maximum value of the compression pressure. Do the
same steps for each cylinder.
NOTE
• Check the compression pressure with the specified valve
clearance.
• Always use a fully charged battery for this test.
• Variances in each cylinder compression value must be less
than 10 %.
