Spiral spring installation
1. Install:
9Spiral spring 1
to Sheave drum.

When installing the spiral spring in the
sheave drum, take care to ensure that the
spiral spring does not pop out and com-
press it by winding one turn from outside.
NOTE:
9Fix the spiral spring end to the drum
hook, hold the spiral spring and then
remove the spring holder with a flat head
screw driver.
9Align the slit with the rope guide and
pass the rope through the slit. Lift up the
rope and turn it counterclockwise for 3
turns by holding the sheave drum. Wind
the rope clockwise by removing it from
the slit and rotating the sheave drum.

NOTE:
9When checking the recoil starter only,
move out the start-in-gear protection lock.
9Adjust the start-in-gear protection wire,
after install the recoil starter ass’y to the
power unit. Refer to page 3-5.
