To begin:
1. Enter any modifications to the Processing Settings.
2. Select the burst number to display.
3. Press Compute Spectra.
4. Select the plot/display you would like to view.
5. Press Display Burst Graph.
6. Some of the displays let you zoom-in/out using the right and left mouse buttons, or by
clicking and dragging a selection box around the area to be magnified.
7. Choosing the Compare 2D Spectra option lets you compare separate bursts by using the
burst data time-series marker (green pointer) and the Add Current Burst button. You can
also export Hydra wave spectra data to an ASCII file. The file name format is DataFile-
Name_wsd.dat.
8. You can choose Close Graphs to close all open graphs and Save Settings to save your cur-
rent graph settings.
Note: For more information about SonWave and its computations, see the file Son-
WavePro.pdf, which has been included on the software distribution CD-ROM.
12.3.5. Hydra Config Menu
This menu contains the following items, which display configuration information that was re-
corded during data collection.
• Standard Information - Gives an overview about the data collected in the file:
o File Name
o File Size
o Number of Bursts collected in file
o Time of First Burst in file
o Time of Last Burst in file
o Compass data present in file: Yes/No
o Pressure Sensor data present in file: Yes/No
o External Sensor data present in file: Yes/No
o CTD Data present in file: Yes/No
o External Pressure Sensor data present in file: Yes/No
o Comments (enter during data collection)
• Hardware Configuration - Lists configuration of Hydra hardware during data collection:
o CPU Software Version - Central Processing Unit firmware version
o DSP Software Version - Digital Signal Processor firmware version
o Serial Number of the probe
o Probe type
o Pressure frequency offset
o Transformation matrix
o Probe orientation (up/down)
o Temperature sensor installed (yes/no)
o Recorder installed (yes/no)
o Pressure sensor installed (yes/no)
o Pressure sensor offset
o Pressure sensor scale
o External pressure sensor installed (type)
