CAUTION Do not operate the syringe pump for extended periods
without fluid inside the syringe. Damage to the syringe
assembly can occur.
Keypad (Figure 3)
The keypad allows operator input to the onboard computer. For the lay-
out and functions of the keypad switches, please see Chapter 5, Figure
1
2.
Printer (Figure 3)
The printer records the test results, sample identification, and other nec-
essary information on thermally sensitive paper.
Power module (Figure 6)
The power module on the rear of the instrument contains the following
components.
• Power cord connector
The power cord connector accommodates a power cord suitable for
the power available.
• Fuse holder
The fuse holder contains the instrument’s necessary fuses. For
instructions on replacing fuses, see Chapter 5.
Power switch (Figure 6)
The rocker-style power switch on the right side of the instrument con-
trols the power to the instrument. The power switch may be left on con-
tinuously.
NOTE If an emergency stop of all instrument operations is required,
place the power switch in the OFF position. The osmometer
module and the pipettor will automatically move to their home
positions during the initialization sequence when the power
switch is placed in the ON position.
Ethernet port (Figure 6)
The Ethernet port allows you to output your instrument’s data/messages
to a laboratory information system (LIS) or an external device, such as a
computer.
