Chapter 4 Maintenance Procedures108
USG-CUS-059 Rev05MassARRAY® Nanodispenser RS1000 v2.1 User Guide
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
CAUTION
!
Do not use a wet vacuum (for example, a Shop-Vac® Wet/Dry vacuum) to remove the remaining
water. The vacuum nozzle could contaminate the tanks.
7. Using lint-free tissues (for example, chem wipes), wipe down the interior surface of
both the waste and supply tanks with ethanol. Also wipe down the interior surface of
the tank lids.
WARNING
!
WARNING! Tissue wipes saturated with ethanol are flammable. Dispose of them properly.
8. Wait 15 minutes to allow the ethanol to evaporate.
9. Put the lids back on the tanks.
10. Reattach the tank access panel by inserting and tightening the five screws (stainless
steel button head cap screw 10-24 3/8") using a 1/8" Allen key.
11. Close the main door.
12. Fill the supply tank with a 65% ethanol solution:
a. Prepare a reservoir that contains three liters of a 65% (by volume) ethanol/water
(Type 1, > 18.2
MΩ) solution.
b. Fill the supply tank with the ethanol solution following the procedure on page 99,
but use the 65% ethanol solution instead of water.
An on-screen message appears during the filling operation (Figure 4.28).
c. Tap CANCEL in the on-screen message when all of the 65% ethanol solution is
pumped from the reservoir.
It is OK if a small amount of the ethanol solution remains in the reservoir when
the fill operation is canceled. It is not critical that exactly three liters of the ethanol
solution are pumped into the supply tank. Simply make sure most of the solution
is pumped into the tank.
NOTE
You must manually cancel the fill operation (tap CANCEL in the on-screen message) because the
three liters of ethanol solution will not completely fill the supply tank. As a result, the internal "tank
full" sensor that automatically stops the fill operation will not be triggered.
d. Continue with the rest of the supply tank filling procedure as normal, setting the
tank valves for normal operation, and purging the supply lines.
