Editing Message
To assign new variables to or edit an existing messages:
1. Select the message you want to edit.
2. Double-click the message or select Edit Message from the Edit menu. The
fields of the Message Parameter pane populate.
3. Enter the new variables of the message.
4. Select Save Project from the File menu to save the edited message.
Defining Message Parameters
When you create a custom message, you must fill out the information in the
Message Parameter pane.
1. Enter a three letter title for the message in the Title field. The title must not be
in use by the receiver.
2. Enter a brief description for the message in the Description field.
3. Select Ashtech or Other in the Header field for the message prefix. If you
selected Other, select PASHR or type in any word.
4. Select ASCII or Binary in the Message Type field to correspond to if you
want your message output in ASCII or binary format.
5. Select the Tree radio button to view the available variables by function.
6. Click on the message group you want to add to your message (such as
Communication) in the Available Variables list.
The available variables for the group appear beneath the message group.
Variables from the Miscellaneous group can be added anywhere in the
custom message.
7. Double-click on a group or variable, or select a group or variable and press
the Add to Parameter list button.
The selected variable appears in the Message Variables list with (empty) as
a sub-heading.
8. Check the Optional check box if you want the group or variable to be
optional.
9. Select the type you want to convert the variable to in the Convert to field.
10. Select a format for the variable display in the Format field.
11. Enter the maximum number of digits you want to appear before the decimal
point for the variable in the Max Digits Before field.
12. Enter the maximum number of digits you want to appear after the decimal
point for the variable in the Max Digits After field.
