4.10 Troubleshooting
Problem description Measures
One or more components indicate malfunctions and
are continuously displayed in "FBL mode".
X The software of the respective component(s) may
not be functional.
1. Make sure that the DiagnosticTool is updated to
the most recent version (if required, perform
update).
2. Execute eBike update.
3. When doing so, make sure the connection to the
eBike is not interrupted when installing the update.
The battery and drive unit are not detected when
connecting the eBike to the DiagnosticTool.
1. Check cable connections between on-board com-
puter and the drive unit.
2. Check whether the on-board computer is correctly
connected.
3. Carry out a separate update of the on-board com-
puter (see p. 107).
4. After the separate update, insert on-board com-
puter into the mount and perform the eBike update.
5. If the problem persists, carry out a component
cross-swap (see p. 120).
The separate Nyon update is interrupted before suc-
cessful completion.
X Always use the Nyon USB A – Micro B 600 mm
USB cable (Order number 1.270.016.364).
X Make sure the connection between Nyon and the
computer does not proceed via the USB hub.
X Check connection between Nyon and the com-
puter (cable and USB port intact?).
X Use a different USB port and, if needed, replace
the cable.
When updating the eBike, an error code is displayed
when downloading the container file from the Internet.
X Check Internet connection.
X Check Internet settings.
X Check connection status of eBike components.
DiagnosticTool is not connecting to the eBike compo-
nents. "USB connected" does not appear on the
on-board computer display.
1. Use a different USB port on the computer.
2. Attach a different on-board computer. If this solves
the problem, then you may have a defect in the
on-board computer.
3. Replace the USB cable.
An eBike update is not possible even though all the
components are displayed as connected.
1. Check the entries in the black status display at
the upper edge of the screen of the Diagnostic-
Tool.
2. If an entry is missing, please contact the bike
manufacturer.
