4.11 Remote Diagnostics
Why remote diagnostics?
X For a brief period, the bike manufacturer's technical
support team can access the bicycle dealer's com-
puter.
X Application areas:
– Application ID or eBike ID are missing in the Diag-
nosticTool header
– The parameters, which are non-modifiable by the
bicycle dealer, have been incorrectly configured by
the manufacturer.
System requirements
X Windows operating system
X Bandwidth of Internet connection:
– Upstream: at least 1 Mbit/s
– Downstream: at least 6 Mbit/s
– A lower bandwidth can result in delays and loss of
connection during the remote diagnostics session.
If a firewall or proxy server for accessing the
Internet is used, this can result in function
restrictions during the remote diagnostics ses-
sion.
The computers used by the bike manufacturer
and the bicycle dealer for remote diagnostics
must both have the same software version of
DiagnosticTool installed.
