5.9 Proper Handling
of eBike Components
Care and Cleaning
Do not immerse eBike components in water or
clean with a high pressure/steam cleaner:
X There is danger of damaging electronic parts
X Water penetrating the device can lead to
dangerous malfunctions.
Drive Unit
X Drive units are splash water protected according to
standard IP54
X Cleaning with garden hose and brush
On-Board Computer
X Always keep the on-board computer screen clean.
Soiling may result in the incorrect detection of
brightness.
The plastic used in the on-board computer
absorbs a certain quantity of moisture. When
large fluctuations in temperature occur, this can
cause internal condensation.
X This will not cause any malfunctions or corrosion
X It disappears after the temperature equalizes
Battery
X Switch off the battery and remove it
X Wipe with a damp cloth
X Clean the plug poles on the battery holder and
lightly grease them occasionally (polypropylene or
technical Vaseline)
X Thoroughly dry the contact points before the battery
is used again
