5.11 Safety Instructions for eBike
Batteries
Commercial storage of batteries
X Building insurance expansion, if required
X Report to business insurance: Storage of eBikes and
lithium-ion batteries > 100 Wh
X Not on flammable surfaces or in the vicinity of
flammable liquids
X Store in well ventilated and cool areas (well below
30 °C)
X Protect from humidity and water
X Equip the storage room with smoke detector
Use PowerPack dummies for eBikes displayed in
shop windows (can be purchased via Bosch
eBike Webshop), otherwise:
– Risk of fire in case of intense sun exposure
– Significant reduction of the service life
X Only use original Bosch batteries, otherwise
– Risk of injury and fire
– Liability/warranty by Bosch in case of con-
sequential damage
X Never open the battery
X Unintentional activation of the eBike drive
may result inpersonal injury. Therefore,
remove the battery from the mount:
– Before any work on eBike is carried out
– Before transporting the eBikes
