6.8 Installing Drive Unit (BDU310/350)
Mounting chainring on the
spider
The chainring (A) must be
mounted on the bike side on which
the spider (B) is facing!
Mounting the spider on the
drive unit
1. Press the spider (B) along with
the mounted chainring (A) onto
the lightly greased interlock (C).
2. Slide the O-ring (D) on up to the
spider.
3. Grease the bottom bracket
shaft.
4. Mount the left-side crank arm.
5. Pull the slightly greased spider
locknut (E) with the Spider
Tool. The lettering must be
visible.
Left-hand thread!
6. Mount the right-side crank arm
on the bottom bracket shaft
(M10 x 1).
Caution: new threads!
X Allen key size 8
X Torque wrench
X Spider Tool
(e.g. X-Tool rev. 1)
X Bearing grease
Work steps Tool
X Spider nut: 25-30 Nm
X Crank arms on bottom bracket
shaft: according to manufac-
turer's specifications
