Connection schematic/
installation orientation of
connectors
X The connection schematic on
Bosch eBikes varies depending
on the model generation.
X The connectors are mechanically
coded and color coded and can be
plugged in practically without force.
X Locking catch (A) points down-
ward (when the eBike tires
contact the floor). Exception:
Locking catch on the battery
connector points to the rear.
The drive unit can be
destroyed by incorrect con-
nection of a plug connector.
eShift wiring
X The electronic gearing is sup-
plied with power by the eBike
battery. This is why the power
cable from the battery to the
drive unit is configured as a
Y-cable.
X A uniform Y-cable for all cur-
rently supported gearing sys-
tems is available as a Bosch
spare part.
Y-cables are used exclusively
for eShift power supply. If
other components are con-
nected, all warranty claims
are deemed invalid.

front light
Connection for bicycle lighting
X Only connect DC headlamps without a parking
light function
X Observe the current rating:
– The current output is sufficiently high
– Output power for lighting: 9 W at 6 V,
18 W at 12 V, max. 1500 mA
– Distribution of the output current to the front
and rear is as required (e.g. 1400 mA front light
and 100 mA rear light).
X Remove the blanking plugs on the slots to connect
the lighting cable.
X It is not necessary to occupy both lighting
slots.
X Enable the power supply via the DiagnosticTool
(see p. 105)
Do not remove the blanking plugs from the slots
if the light connections are not used.
▶ Matching DC headlights and tail lights are
available from, e.g., Axa, Busch & Müller,
Lupine, Spanninga, Supernova and Trelock.
▶ Original Bosch eBike lighting cables are avail-
able from Bosch eBike service partners.
