6.9 Replacing the fan (M2-EV1) on the
water chiller
6.9.1 Disconnect the fan electrically
1. Switch off the EPS 708 at the main switch.
2. Secure the main switch so that it cannot be swit-
ched back on.
3. Unplug the mains plug or disconnect from mains
electricity.
4. Check that there is no power.
5. Remove the front cover of the test oil area.
6. Remove the side cover of the test oil area.

7. Remove the 4 fastening screws of the cover
(Fig. 51, item 1).
8. Remove cover and place it to the side.

9. In the electrical cabinet, remove all covers from all
cable ducts.
10. Disconnect the wires of the fan connection cable
from the following terminals:
Device/terminal Wire color
KM5/2 Black (BK)
KM5/4 Blue (BU)
KM5/6 Brown (BR)
X1/30 Red (RD), gray (GY) and orange (OG)
PE Green/yellow (GN/YE)
11. Remove all cable ties.
12. Open the cable gland (see Fig. 15, item 2).
13. Pull the fan connection cable out of the electrical
cabinet.
6.9.2 Removing the fan
1. Remove the 4 hex head bolts.

2. Pull the fan out of the chiller and carefully remove
from the test bench.
