6.19 Replacing the protective hood
WARNING - Risk of getting trapped by
falling protective hood!
There is a risk of getting trapped if the
protective hood is not secured.
Always secure the protective hood with
the aid of another person.
Always secure the protective hood with an
additional support.
Always remove and install the protective
hood with the aid of another person.
6.19.1 Removing the protective hood
1. Remove the cover of the hydraulics chamber.
2. Open the protective hood.

3. Remove the mounting plate with workstation light
(item 2).
4. Remove the workstation light (item 1) from the
mounting plate.
5. Detach the grounding conductor from the protective
hood.
6. Detach the two steel wires from the protective hood
(see Fig. 76) and open the protective hood as far as
possible.
7. Affix the support (see Fig. 75), making sure that it is
securely held.
8. Slacken the self-locking nuts on the lower ball joint
of both pneumatic springs.
! Now only the support is preventing the protective
hood from falling.
9. Take the two pneumatic springs out of the lower
brackets.
! The protective hood has a dead weight of approx.
45 kg.
10. With the aid of a second person, secure the
protective hood and remove the support. Slowly
close the protective hood.

11. Slacken the screws on the two bearing supports
(1685520554 and 1685520555) of the protective
hood (see Fig. 78, items 1 and 2).

12. With the aid of another person, move the protective
hood slightly to the right until the bearing supports
slide out of the holes.
13. With the aid of another person, tilt the protective
hood forwards (see Fig. 79).
14. With the aid of another person, remove the
protective hood.
15. Remove the pneumatic springs from the protective
hood.
16. Remove the side bearing supports from the
protective hood.
6.19.2 Installing the protective hood
Install the protective hood in the reverse order.
