8.2 Error messages on the chiller
i Faults in the chiller are displayed on the LCD of the chiller

R Ambient temperature is too high (>45 °C).
R EPS 708 placed too close to the wall or the vent grille on the back of the
EPS 708 is obstructed by a bulky object. This reduces the air throughput.
Reposition the EPS 708, remove the object.
R Reduced air throughput due to severely soiled condenser fins or conden-
ser fins squeezed together. Clean the fins and straighten them with a fin
comb.
R Fan motor is connected incorrectly or defective => Check motor connec-
tion with the aid of circuit diagram, replace fan.

Low water level in tank R Cooling water quantity insufficient. Check the cooling water quantity and
vent cooling water tank.
R Fill level sensor defective => Replace water chiller.

Pump heat protection
alarm
R Phase fault in water chiller. Check phases against circuit diagram.
R Cooling water quantity insufficient or a cooling water hose is kinked.
Check cooling water quantity and all hoses. Vent cooling water tank.
R Water pump motor not connected correctly (wrong direction of rotation).
Check motor connection with the aid of circuit diagram.
R Water pump power consumption is too high. Check whether motor circuit
breaker F1 has tripped. If yes, use blue knob to reset motor circuit breaker
F1. The knob must be set to H. With the EPS 708 switched off, check whe-
ther the fan wheel on the water pump moves freely. If the fan wheel of the
water pump does not move freely, the water pump must be replaced.

Resetting the fault. A: Reset occurs automatically as soon as the fault is eliminated. M: Reset must be performed manually. Reset water
chiller by simultaneously pressing (approx. 5 seconds) the two "Clear" keys (see Fig. 149, item 1 and item 2).
