6.7 Replacing the chiller
i In the event of a warranty claim, return the faulty
chiller in its original packaging. The packaging of the
replacement chiller may be used.
Make sure that the chiller is properly secured in the
packaging.
6.7.1 Emptying the chiller
i Get a leakproof container ready for catching cooling
water.
! Note the disposal instructions in section 2.3.2.
1. Turn off the EPS 708 at the master switch.
2. Secure the master switch so that it cannot be
switched back on.
3. Unplug the mains plug or disconnect from mains
electricity.
4. Check that there is no power.
5. Remove the front cover of the calibrating oil
chamber.
6. Remove the side cover of the calibrating oil
chamber.
7. Remove the rear cover of the calibrating oil chamber.
8. On the front, connect the drain cock (item 1) to a
hose (item2).

9. Route the hose to a waste water drain or a
sufficiently large, waterproof container.
10. Open the drain cock.

11. On the rear of the test bench, rotate the bleed valve
(see Fig. 37, item 1) on the water tank
approx. 90° counter-clockwise and hold in this
position.
12. This bleeds the chiller, and all water within drains
out through the hose on the drain cock.
13. Catch any water escaping from the rear drain hose
(see Fig. 37, item 2) in a watertight container.
14. Hold the bleed valve in this position until no more
water runs out of the front drain hose. Then release
the bleed valve.
15. Disconnect the hose from the drain cock and close
the drain cock.
