9.3 Checking the pressure sensors
The high-pressure rail is fitted with two pressure
sensors B9 and B10 for measuring the rail pressure.
The output signals of the two pressure sensors are eva-
luated by the control device and displayed in the EPS
945 system software as a pressure value or pressure
curve (uniform delivery). Parallel pressure measure-
ment (redundancy) is also employed as a means of mu-
tual monitoring and for checking the
filter loading.

The following fault situations may occur:
R Excessive difference in pressure
Fault situation 1
Excessive difference in pressure between pressure sen-
sors B9 and B10. An error message opens.
Cause:
R Filter is full ==> replace filter.
R Changed calibrating values ==> calibrate pressure
sensors.
R Faulty pressure sensor.
9.4 Checking the rail detection memory
module (one-wire chip)
The software detects the current rail configuration by
way of the memory module. The rail configuration infor-
mation (emergency shut-off pressure, maximum pressu-
re, etc.) is loaded at the factory and cannot be altered.
Reading out the memory module:
1. Switch on the EPS 708 via the master switch.
2. After booting of the PC, start the application
EPS945-PE/VE/CR in the Bosch applications list.
The "Injection component test main menu" win-
dow opens.
The application performs initialization.
3. In the "Injection component test main menu"
window select <F7>.
You are asked to enter a password.
4. Enter the password in the input line: 1958
5. Confirm your entry with <F12>.
6. Select the menu item "Calibration >> Rail pressure
sensor".
The "Rail pressure sensor calibration" window
opens.
7. Select <F2>.
The memory module information opens
(see screenshot).
