10.3 Current calibration
Active current calibration is possible with software
EPS945 as of version 4.35 or higher and needs to be
performed in the following cases:
R If the calibration values on PCB A3 are not present
(see section 6.1.3).
R During initial commissioning of retrofit kit CP4 (The
current calibration during initial commissioning of
retrofit kit CP4 is also described in the correspon-
ding installation instructions).
i When software EPS945 is updated to version 4.35 or
higher, the previous ZME / DRV values are converted
to ZME' / DRV'. The ZME / DRV values are not deter-
mined and entered until the initial commissioning of
retrofit kit CP4 (1 687 010 390).
Depending on which X24 connecting cable is used for
connection of the common rail high-pressure pump, the
current values are determined and entered in the fol-
lowing input boxes in the EPS945 software from version
4.35 or higher:

10.3.1 Preparatory work
1. Slide common rail high-pressure pump
1687222188 (Fig. 158, item 1) onto the clamping
rail of EPS 708. The common rail high-pressure
pump 1687222188 must not be connected to the
flywheel.
2. Connect connecting cable X24 (Fig. 158, item 2) to
plug socket X24 of EPS 708 (also see table in
section 10.3).
3. Connect adapter cable 1 684 460 291
(Fig. 158, item 3) to the ZME of the common rail
high-pressure pump (Fig. 158, item 1).
4. Using plug DRV/DMV1/ZME, connect connec-
ting cable X24 (Fig. 158, item2) to adapter cable
1684460291 (Fig. 1, item 3).
i Heed the information in the multimeter operating
instructions.
5. Using connection cables, connect the multimeter for
current measurement (> 900 mA) (Fig. 158, item 4)
to the banana jacks of adapter cable 1684460291
(Fig. 158, item 3).
