Troubleshooting
Error Messages
“Label feed error” Labels are installed but not moving
through the printer.
Re-install label supply. See
“Loading Supplies” on page 14.
If the problem persists, follow
cleaning instructions shown in
“Cleaning the Printer” on page 74.
“No labels detected” There is no label supply installed
in the printer or the smart cell
cannot be detected.
Confirm that the label supply,
including bulk if used, is installed
correctly and that the smart cell is
properly aligned.
NOTE: Bulk label cores cannot be
re-used. When installing bulk
labels replace the core for each
new box of labels.
Re-install or replace label supply.
See “Loading Labels” on page 15.
“No ribbon detected” There is no ribbon installed in the
printer or the smart cell is not
detected.
Re-install or replace the ribbon.
See “Loading Supplies” on
page 14. If the problem persists,
contact Technical Support.
“Out of labels” Label supply has run out, is not
fully threaded into the printer or is
improperly installed.
Replace or reinstall label supply,
making sure that the smart cell is
properly aligned. See “Loading
Labels” on page 15.
If the problem persists, follow
cleaning instructions shown in
“Cleaning the Printer” on page 74.
“Out of ribbon” The ribbon has run out, broken or
has excessive slack.
If the ribbon is used up or broken,
replace the ribbon with one that is
compatible with the installed label
supply. See “Loading Supplies” on
page 14.
If the ribbon is slack, remove the
ribbon and rotate the take-up spool
end clockwise. See “Loading” on
page 14.
