Error Messages
Message Cause Corrective Action
“Barcode exceeds height of
installed labels.”
The barcode is too large for the
label.
Change the height of the barcode.
See “Barcode Settings” on
page 45.
“Barcode exceeds width of
installed labels.”
The barcode is too large for the
label.
Reset rotation in Label > Rotate
menu, see “Rotation” on page 39
or install wider labels.
“Cut sensed” Label material is stuck in the cutter
blades.
Disengage the printhead lock
lever. Remove the label supply.
Clear the path of the debris.
“Data will not fit on installed
labels”
The label supply is not the right
size for the amount of data on the
label.
Install the label supply
recommended in the error
message. See “Loading Labels”
on page 15.
“File incompatible with installed
labels”
The file selected is not compatible
with the installed label supply.
When printing a file from history,
the error message will tell you the
compatible label supply.
When printing from the file list, the
label supply part number will not
be known.
Install label supply that is
compatible with the label file being
created. See “Loading Labels” on
page 15.
“Head temperature outside
range”
Printhead too hot Printhead has reached maximum
operating temperature. Let
printhead cool down for
approximately 10 minutes, then re-
initiate print job.
“Incompatible labels for
selected Label Type”
The label type created is not
compatible with the installed label
supply.
Install label supply that is
compatible with the label type
being created/printed.
“Invalid barcode character” The wrong character type was
input.
Use characters applicable to the
type of barcode being created.
“Invalid terminal repeat value
entered”
The value entered is out of the
range.
The acceptable range is between
the minimum of 0.2 inch to the
maximum of 40 inches.
“Label and ribbon color are
identical”
Ribbon color and label color are
the same. Printing will not be
visible.
Replace ribbon or label supply.
