Evinrude E-TEC Engine Warnings
ICON gauges monitor engine conditions and display warnings in the event of a malfunction. The following
table lists warnings that are specific to Evinrude E-TEC models. Refer to the outboard Operator’s Guide if
engine warnings are displayed.
WARNING MESSAGE DISPLAYED POSSIBLE CAUSE PROCEDURE
RPM RDUCE RESTRT ENG FUEL QLTY? SEE DLR Water in fuel detected.
See dealer for service.
SENSOR FAULT SERVICE SOON Water pressure sensor failure.
CHECK ENGINE WATER IN FUEL Water-in-fuel detected/sensor has failed.
CHECK ENGINE WARNING TPS FAULT Throttle position sensor fault detected.
CHECK ENGINE SYS VOLT FAULT Engine 55V circuit out of range.

immediately.
ENGINE OVER TEMP FAULT
Engine or EMM above temperature range.
Check cooling water intakes.
LOW BATTERY FAULT Battery is discharged.
NO OIL FAULT Oil pump/circuit failure.
