DLP-G314 Verifying OSCM Transmit Power
This task verifies that the transmit power of the OSCM
card is correct.

Procedure
Step 1 Display the OSCM card in card view.
Step 2 Click the Provisioning > Optical Line > Parameters tabs.
Step 3 Record the Port 3 (OSC TX) Power value: _____.
Step 4 Change to node view (single-shelf mode) or multishelf view (multishelf mode), then click the Provisioning
> WDM-ANS > Provisioning tabs.
Step 5 Record the OSC Power value under the OSCM card in the tree view.
Step 6 If the power value recorded in Step 3 is not within the range of +/– 0.5 dBm recorded in Step 5, complete the
following steps. Otherwise, continue with Step 7.
a) Click the Maintenance > ALS tabs. Verify that the ALS Command is set to OSRI Off. If not, choose Off
from the drop-down list. Click Apply, then click Yes.
b) Clean the optical connections.
c) Complete the following procedures:
• Delete the two OSC channels using the DLP-G186 Delete an OSC Termination.
• Complete the NTP-G37 Running Automatic Node Setup procedure.
• Create the OSC channels using the NTP-G38 Provisioning OSC Terminations procedure.
• Repeat Step 3 through Step 6. If the power level is still not within the specified range, contact your
next level of support.
Step 7 Return to your originating procedure (NTP).
