1.1 COMPLIANCE
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Compliance
The conditions and tests for TSO approval of this article are minimum performance standards. Those
installing this article, on or in a specific type or class of aircraft, must determine that the aircraft installation
conditions are within the TSO standards. TSO articles must have separate approval for installation in an
aircraft. The article may be installed only according to 14 CFR part 43 or the applicable airworthiness
requirements.
The RT-7000 PMR and RMR and designed to meet the standands of ANSI/TIA-603-E and TSO-C169a
for VHF COM Transceivers, meeting receiver class D (used in a 25 kHz channel separation environment
having offset carrier operation) and meeting transmitter class 4 (100 mile maximum range with 25 kHz
channel separation). The average transmitter output power is 4 Watts for AM and 10 Watts for FM. The
wide band transceiver (CWT) in the RT-7000 can not be used as TSO’d VHF ATC COM in Part 25 aircraft
operating with a 200 mile communication range.
The RT-7000 wideband transceiver (CWT) is designed to be a VOICE radio only. It does not have data
capability and therefore the audio from the ACARS modem shall not be connected to the RT-7000
microphone input and the RT-7000 shall not be used to send or receive ACARS data.
Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Compliance
The RT7000PMR is FCC Certified (parts 15, 22, 80, 87 and 90). Grant approval certified in accordance
with FCC Rules and Regulations specified in Title 47 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Sections 2.947,
2.1033(c), 2.1041, 2.1046, 2.1047, 2.1049, 2.1051, 2.1053, 2.1055, 2.1057 and the individual parts 15,
22, 80, 87 and 90. RT7000 PMR FCC certification is based on the specifications and associated tests
listed in later sections.
This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions:
(1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and
(2) This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may
cause undesired operation.

compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.

interference caused by unauthorized modifications to this equipment.

Industry Canada (IC) COMPLIANCE
The RT7000PMR has been tested and certified under Innovation Science and Development (ISED) for
Industry Canada (IC), Certification No. 501A-RT7000PMR issued 05/01/2018.
IC RSS-102 Compliance Statement
This system has been evaluated for RF Exposure per RSS-102 and is in compliance with the limits
specified by Health Canada Safety Code 6. The system must be installed at a minimum separation
distance from the antenna to a general bystander of 85cm inches (85 cm) to maintain compliance with the
General Population limits.
