8 SYSTEM VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
8.1 GENERAL
This section contains a system checkout procedure to verify the operation of the RT-
7000 PMR installation. The following procedures are intended to provide sufficient
exercising of the system configuration to assure that system parameter
selection/control and transmit/receive functions are operating properly.
8.2 SYSTEM CHECKOUT
8.2.A General
It is absolutely essential that the installer read and understand the operation and
programming capabilities of the RT-7000 PMR as documented in the RT-7000 PMR
Operator’s Manual 150-071770 before attempting to test the installation.
The RT-7000 PMR must be programmed with configuration information BEFORE it will
properly communicate with any transceivers. This programming can be performed
with a PC (Cobham Installation Configuration Tool Software (P/N 320-171803-XX) and
cable P/N 129-271603-XX).
8.2.B Checkout Setup
In order to perform system checkout procedures the installer must have a means by
which to transmit to and receive with the RT-7000 PMR. While basic TX/RX tests can
be performed to verify system operation, the manufacturer recommends using
calibrated test equipment that will be able to determine the system quality. To fully
verify the RT-7000 PMR system is functioning properly the following equipment is
required:
Radio Service Monitor (communications analyzer) capable of AM/FM Modes of
operation from 29.7 to 960 MHz.
1 kHz Sinusoidal source capable of delivering .25 VRMS into a 150 Ohm load.
(Most Radio Service Monitors can perform this function.)
Thru-line Watt meter with 25 watt slugs that can handle 29.7 to 960 MHz).
DC/AC Volt Meter
Low Ohmage Resistance Meter capable of reading milli-Ohm levels.
These commodities, technology or software are controlled in accordance with the United States Export Administration Regulations, Export Classification
Control Number (ECCN) EAR99. When exporting, diversion contrary to U.S. law is prohibited.
