6.8.8 ANTENNA SWITCHING UNIT

6.8.9 118 MHZ HIGH PASS FILTER (HPF)
A 118 MHz High Pass Filter (HPF) is provided for installations that will be using the
Cobham Wideband Transciever (CWT) as a VHF ATC COM radio. The 118 MHz HPF is
a mandatory component for installations that need an RT-7000 radio system that has
been certified to TSO-C169a. Failure to install the filter could result in the radio users
experiencing interference in their received audio when flying close to commercial FM
broadcast radio transmit towers. The RT-7000 PMR and RMR radio system will not
meet the requirements of TSO-C169a if the 118 MHz HPF is not installed.
