9 RT-7000 PMR/RMR CONFIGURATION AND PROGRAMMING
9.1 INTRODUCTION OF RT-7000 PMR/RMRS SOFTWARE PACKAGE
The Cobham software tools were developed to assist the installer in bringing the radio
up within the aircraft and allowing the installer to set configuration options for the RT-
7000 PMR/RMR. These tools consist of the “Installer Configuration Tool” commonly
referred to as the ICT, and the “Mission Configuration Tool” commonly referred to as
the MCT.
The ICT generate Installation Configuration Files that pertain to the operation and
configuration of the RT-7000 PMR/RMR within the aircraft. The MCT generatesMission
Configuration Files that pertain to the radio frequencies and radio channel
configurations pertinent to the aircraft mission.
These tools will enable the installer to preform many of the adjustable functions
available on the RT-7000 PMR/RMR. These features include the ability to route the
audio paths and PTT paths of the RT-7000 PMR/RMR, adjust the lighting bus
parameters, adjust the gain on various audio inputs/outputs, and configuration of the
microphone mode on the RT-7000 PMR/RMR, set default channels and radio
selectable scan groups, AM/FM/P25 configurations for channels and many more
features required for installation.
9.2 SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
9.2.1 INSTALLATION OF THE ICT
The ICT tool is a windows application and can be installed on windows 7, windows 8,
and windows 10. The ICT installer can be found on USB flash drive 404-071960-XX.
Insert the USB into a PC and navigate to the USB directory. Run the ICT executable
320-171803-XX. Follow the screen prompts to install the program. An ICT icon should
appear on the desktop.
9.2.2 INSTALLATION OF THE MCT
The MCT tool is a windows application and can be installed on windows 7, windows 8,
and windows 10. The MCT installer can be found on USB flash drive 404-071960-XX.
Insert the USB into a PC and navigate to the USB directory. Run the MCT executable
320-171804-XX. Follow the screen prompts to install the program. An MCT icon should
appear on the desktop.
9.3 SOFTWARE PACKAGE SYSTEM CONFIGURATION
9.3.1 SYSTEM OPERATION CONFIGURATION
Figure 9-1 illustrates a typical configuration for running the RT-7000 PMR/RMR
software packages
