8.6.2.2 Operations Verification Tests Lighting
Refer to section 9 of the INSTALLATION MANUAL, RT-7000 PMR for ICT software
installation.
If this test is a continuation of the previous tests, proceed to Step 1. If not, execute
section 8.3 steps a through H and then proceed to Step 2.
This sequence may be performed at both 5V and 28V and lighting bus On or Off if
necessary for specific test reasons and must be run at all options for full ATP.
(1.) Skip this step if the UUT is already powered on. If the RCDU does not power on,
press the On/Off, left inner knob.
(2.) Open the ICT application on the test PC desktop.
(3.) Connect to the RCDU Front programming port J114 as described in Section 9
Steps f through h.
(4.) Upload the configuration from the RCDU.
(5.) Configure the day lighting curve for 5V with pop by selecting 0-5(pop) from the
dropdown menu in the Day Lighting Curve selection box.
(6.) Configure the night lighting curve for 5V without pop by selecting 0-5 from the
dropdown menu in the Night Lighting Curve selection box.
(7.) Configure the NVG lighting curve for 5V without pop by selecting NVG 0-5 from
the dropdown menu in the NVG Lighting Curve selection box.
(8.) Select the “Yes” radio button for the Use Lighting Bus option to use an external
DC supply to control the screen brightness instead of the knobs, or the touch
slider. If “Yes” connect a DC power supply to the RCDU lighting bus control
inputs. The positive side of the supply connects to pin 61 of the RCDU (or 78-pin
BOB) and the ground can to connect to pin 60 or any ground pin.
(9.) Either rotate the left outer knob, or roll the supply towards 0V to dim the display.
Verify that the RCDU pops to full brightness when the brightness is below 10%.
(10.) Open the day/night discrete.
(11.) With the brightness at 100%, ground the NVIS discrete, pin 53, to activate NVIS
mode. Verify that the screen goes dim with a green backlight. This verifies that
the RCDU display is in NVIS mode.
(12.) If continuing to the next section, skip this step. Press and hold the ON/OFF, left
inner knob until the UUT turns off. Turn off the UUT power supply.
