This is step nr. 1 in the Media
Profile creation process. Here
you select the name/type of
media in the printer.
Media Profile creation is to
ensure color matching. A Media
Profile is a unit that stores data
that matches scanner and
printer colors on a given media.

The three steps for media type creation are:
 Select the media type
 Print the system’s closed loop sheet. (see

Calibrate RIP
For many printers, this is an
optional step (between steps 1
and 2) in the Media Profile
creation process. On other
printers Calibrate RIP is required
in order for the printer to function
properly.
Since RIP settings can behave
differently on different media
types, you can make RIP
configuration settings that are
logically tied to your specific
printer and printing media. RIP
settings become therefore a part
of the Media Profile.
The Calibrate RIP dialog lets
you adjust two parameters for
fine-tuning your results - the Ink
Level and the Gray Balance.
