l Remove holddowns and shields.

43 TEST INDICATOR/OPEN CIRCUIT VOLTAGE TEST
Open circuit voltage is
less than 12.4 V
l Turn headlights on for 15 seconds.

b CHARGE battery at 5
amps, then GO to A3.
l Turn headlights off for 2 minutes to allow
battery voltage to stabilize.
l Disconnect cables.
Open circuit voltage IS
more than 12.4 V
l Read open crrcuit voltage.

OK b GO to A4.
\4 LOAD TEST
l Connect a load tester to the battery.

F REPLACE battery.
l Load the battery at the recommended
discharge rate (See LOAD TEST RATE CHART)
Voltage is less than
minimum listed
for 15 seconds.
(white indicator).
l Read voltage after 15 seconds, then
remove load. 0
OK F Battery OK.
Voltage is more than
minimum listed.
(Blue indicator).
