6.1 Manufacturer function blocks
Message text selection
Normally, message texts are activated by the program on the easy. However, it is
also possible to have operators call message texts as "input" for the program on the
easy (when selecting operating modes, for example). (when selecting operating
modes, for example). One example is a scenario in which a machine can produce
various colors and the operator needs to select one: black socks, brown socks, blue
socks.
This element is configured exactly the same way as a message text – please refer to
→ Section "Message text", page 493.
The only difference is that the message text selection element allows for operator
input – please refer to → Section "Example: Entering data on the display via a D text
function block", page 499.
Date and time entry
This element is configured exactly the same way as a date and time display – please

In addition to the display functionality, this element allows for operator input.
